Birch Press Design Beautiful Butterflies

I am up on the Birch Press Design blog today with this card using the Genevieve Butterflies craft dies.

For my card today I started by watercolouring a soft spring background of green and yellow Distress Inks. You can easily use any ink to create a watercoloured background by smooshing your ink pad on to a craft sheet or acrylic block and adding water to it. Once the background was done I let it dry for a minute and then flicked some green ink on to it and set it aside to dry completely.

While waiting for my background to dry I die cut a bunch of the Genevieve butterflies in various colours using Genevieve Butterfly A, Genevieve Butterfly B and Genevieve Butterfly C. Once die cut they were adhered together. I did not use the antennae from the Genevieve Butterfly C this time.

I chose three different colour families, using the darkest colour for the Genevieve Butterfly C.

Once the background was dry it was adhered it to a card base with foam adhesive tape and then the butterflies were adhered to the panel in a random order to emphasize movement. A sentiment from Close to the Heart was stamped with VersaMark ink on the watercoloured panel and embossed in silver. Finally a few clear, Stickles filled sequins were added to the panel.

I have an extra set of the Genevieve Butterfly dies so I think it is time to do a giveaway to one lucky winner. Leave a comment here on this blog post for your chance to win. If you want to double your luck head over to my Beautiful Butterflies post on the Birch Press Design blog and leave another comment there. I will draw  the name using the entries from both locations. Instagrammers you have a chance too, see my Instragram post.

You have until Friday, April 21st 11:59 EST to enter.
I will announce the winner on my blog next week!

ETA: Congratulation Teresa Doyle! Email me to claim your prize!
